Global Grants Hub

Large-scale, sustainable projects that create measurable impact around the world.

What Are Global Grants?

Global Grants support larger humanitarian projects, scholarships, and vocational training activities that align with Rotary's Areas of Focus.

Unlike District Grants, Global Grants are administered through The Rotary Foundation and require international partnership, sustainability planning, and long-term community impact.

Is a Global Grant Right for Your Project?

Good Candidates Include:

  • International humanitarian projects
  • Projects with long-term sustainability
  • Multi-club collaborations
  • Larger funding needs
  • Projects aligned with Rotary's Areas of Focus

Consider a District Grant if:

  • Your project is local
  • Funding needs are modest
  • The project can be completed within a shorter timeframe
  • You are new to Rotary grants

How the Process Works

1. Develop Your Project

Define the community need, partners, budget, and sustainability strategy.

2. Build International Partnerships

Global Grants require collaboration between Rotary clubs in different countries.

3. Align With an Area of Focus

Projects must support at least one Rotary Area of Focus.

4. Apply Through Rotary

Applications are submitted through Rotary International's Grant Center.

5. Implement & Report

Approved projects must meet Rotary Foundation stewardship and reporting requirements.

Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus

Rotary grant projects often align with one or more Areas of Focus. For District Grants over $5,000, alignment with an Area of Focus is required. For smaller District Grants, alignment is strongly encouraged.
